Moscow at B20: Digital Transformation for an Accessible Urban Environment
As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Regional Advisory Forum of the Business Twenty (B20) was held under the theme “Inclusive Growth and Prosperity through Global Cooperation.”
One of the key participants was Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations. In his address, he presented the Russian capital as a metropolis capable not only of providing access to essential urban services, but also of creating a favorable environment for business, investment, and sustainable development.
“Today, Moscow has become an inclusive city that ensures residents have access to virtually all services a modern metropolis can offer,” Cheremin emphasized.
He shared Moscow’s experience in digitally transforming the urban environment—from a vast video surveillance system and the “Moscow Electronic School” to transportation services and environmental initiatives. Special focus was placed on how technological advancements are making urban infrastructure more accessible, efficient, and people-centric. The forum became a platform for discussing effective practices in employment, education, investment, infrastructure, and digitalization—where Moscow was highlighted as a city where the economy, technology, and social policy align in a unified direction of development.
