The meeting of the Commission on Legal Regulation of Non-Profit Organizations under the Russian Lawyers’ Association was held

On April 23, 2025, the Commission on Legal Regulation of the Non-Profit Sector of the Moscow Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization “Association of Lawyers of Russia” held a session at the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

One of the key participants was Ms. Sofia Ilyina, a permanent member of the commission, whose speech drew particular attention from her colleagues. During the discussion on legal support for non-profit organizations, she offered important proposals and professional commentary. In particular, she addressed the issue of gratuitous contracts with NPO directors and suggested that the topic of personal data processing under Federal Law No. 152 “On Personal Data” of July 27, 2006 — significantly amended as of March 1, 2023 — be included in future discussions.

The chairman of the commission, Vyacheslav Shinkarenko, emphasized the importance of the issues raised and included them in the agenda of the next meeting.

The commission also considered the notification procedure related to educational activities, organizational matters for the upcoming session, and a proposal to involve commission members more actively in events for law students.

The meeting concluded with the unanimous adoption of several decisions, including the preparation of an official inquiry to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the launch of student engagement initiatives involving commission members.
