Moscow and Oman Strengthen Partnership Ties
On June 30, a significant meeting took place between representatives of the Government of Moscow and the Sultanate of Oman. The Moscow delegation was led by V.A. Ovchinsky, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Urban Planning Policy, which forms part of Moscow’s Urban Planning Policy and Construction Complex. The Omani delegation was represented by Khalfan bin Said Al-Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning. Igor Tkach, Acting Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, also actively participated in the discussions.
During the negotiations, the Moscow delegation presented the capital’s achievements in urban development, transportation infrastructure, and smart city technologies, with particular emphasis on the “Digital Twin” project. The Omani delegation expressed keen interest in studying Moscow’s expertise and proposed sending a technical team of specialists for knowledge exchange.
This meeting marked an important step in advancing cooperation between Moscow and Oman in urban planning policy and city development. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening this partnership.
