Smart Cities Forum Held in New Delhi
On January 18, 2024, the Smart Cities Forum took place as part of the Smart Cities India Expo. The event was organized by the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, the Russian Trade Representation in India, and the Moscow Center for International Cooperation.
The forum brought together Russian and Indian government officials, as well as companies specializing in information technology and urban infrastructure development.
Sergei Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Moscow – A Smart and Sustainable City” during the plenary session.
In his speech, he highlighted that Russia and India possess unique expertise in engineering, microelectronics, IT, cybersecurity, and the development of advanced software, making the two nations ideal partners for smart city initiatives.
