Thailand Culture Festival Held in Moscow

From August 4 to 6, 2023, Moscow hosted the Thailand Culture Festival, organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Russia with the support of Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, Department of Culture, Moscow Center for International Cooperation, Mosgorpark, and the Phuket Tourist Association.

The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sasivat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of Thailand to Russia; Vyacheslav Manuylov, Deputy Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow; and Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the Russian President for International Cultural Cooperation and Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Vyacheslav Manuylov expressed gratitude to Thailand’s partners, noting that Russia had welcomed numerous Thai delegations this year—including from popular tourist destinations like Pattaya and Phuket. He proudly announced the opening of the Russian Consulate General in Phuket on July 28, marking a milestone in bilateral relations.

The festival featured a fashion show, “The Beauty of Modern Thai Silk,” captivating even the most discerning audiences. Attendees also enjoyed exhibitions of traditional jewelry, Thai-style market stalls offering souvenirs from Russian and Thai producers, craft workshops, Thai massage sessions, and Muay Thai demonstrations. Food enthusiasts savored authentic Thai cuisine and watched live cooking shows.
