Smart Cities India Expo 2026 Opens in New Delhi
On March 23, the international exhibition Smart Cities India Expo 2026 opened in New Delhi, bringing together leading global experts in digitalization and urban technologies.
Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, took part in the opening ceremony, “India’s Impact: Tech Today. Transformation Tomorrow.” The event was also attended by representatives of relevant Indian government bodies and organizations.
Cheremin noted that Moscow is taking part in the exhibition for the third time and spoke about the advanced technological solutions the city is implementing to improve the quality of life of Muscovites. In his address, he highlighted the capital’s leading position in the smart city sphere:
“Today, Moscow is one of the world leaders in smart city solutions. Over the past ten years, we have invested heavily in the digital environment, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and intelligent transport management systems. These technologies greatly simplify urban management.”
In his speech, Cheremin paid special attention to the development of Russian‑Indian cooperation, noting its strategic and multifaceted nature. He emphasized that interaction between the countries extends far beyond traditional sectors: “Today, Russia is not only a strategic energy partner for India but also a key ally in agriculture, mechanical engineering, and high technology. The main focus of both countries is on digital transformation, infrastructure modernization, and the implementation of smart and safe city concepts.”
The Smart Cities India Expo 2026 will continue until March 25, showcasing the latest developments in urban planning, digitalization, and sustainable development.
