Moscow Presents Program for the Festival of Culture of Latin America and the Caribbean

On June 19, 2026, the House of Latin America hosted an official presentation of the program for the Festival of Culture of Latin America and the Caribbean – one of the most vibrant international cultural events of the summer.

The festival is organized by the Government of Moscow and the Department for External Economic and International Relations, with the support of the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation. The project is traditionally aimed at developing humanitarian ties, strengthening international dialogue, and promoting the cultural diversity of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Yulia Surilova, Director of the House of Latin America, welcomed the guests, emphasizing the festival’s significance as a unique platform for cultural exchange and dialogue between countries and peoples.

The keynote speaker at the presentation was Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations. In his remarks, he reviewed the outcomes of the 2025 festival and presented the rich program for this year. Special attention was paid to the international interest in the project:

“The festival has become such a vibrant tradition that we are already receiving inquiries from representatives of other regions of the world. Thanks to our uniqueness and success, we are receiving requests from African and Asian partners interested in launching similar initiatives,” the Minister noted.

This year, the festival will take place from July 18 to 26. The main program will be held on July 18 and 19 in Hermitage Garden. Guests can expect a large‑scale cultural and entertainment program: performances by musical groups, dance and vocal numbers, national costume shows, traditional craft workshops, and vibrant photo exhibitions dedicated to the culture, history, and daily life of the region. A special place in the program will be given to the introduction of traditional regional cuisine, which is particularly popular with festival visitors. Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, and Ecuador have prepared a rich and diverse program, including presentations of national cuisine and cultural initiatives.

The festival will also feature thematic events: an Evening of Venezuela, timed to coincide with the country’s Independence Day, an Evening of the Dominican Republic, as well as an Open Day at the Brazilian Embassy residence, where guests can learn about the history and current state of Russian‑Brazilian relations.

Partner venues will play a significant role in the program. The Margarita Rudomino All‑Russian State Library for Foreign Literature will present a series of cultural and educational events dedicated to the literature and art of Latin America. The Latin American Film Festival will also take place, introducing audiences to the latest cinematic trends in the region and serving as another step in developing cultural cooperation in cinema.

A new addition this year is the Moscow Zoo’s participation as a separate festival venue, featuring thematic photo exhibitions, including works by photographers from Colombia and Paraguay, as well as special educational events.

The presentation concluded with remarks from representatives of diplomatic missions of Latin American countries, who emphasized the importance of the festival as a tool for strengthening international cultural interaction.

Sergey Cheremin also invited representatives of Latin American countries to take part in the International Municipal Forum, to be held in Moscow on November 23‑24, 2026, noting the special role of inter‑municipal dialogue in the context of modern global challenges.

The Festival of Culture of Latin America and the Caribbean will once again become a large‑scale platform for cultural exchange, open dialogue, and the strengthening of friendly ties between Moscow and the region’s countries, uniting thousands of guests and participants in an atmosphere of vibrant traditions, art, and mutual respect.
