21st Moscow Mayor’s Golf Cup to Be Held in Nakhabino
On August 22, 2026, the annual Moscow Mayor’s Golf Cup will take place. This will be the 21st edition of the tournament and it will be included in the capital’s unified calendar of major sports and entertainment events. The organizer is the Moscow Golf Federation, with support from the Moscow Department of Sport.
The venue will be the Moscow Country Club course in Nakhabino, where the tournament has been held since 2023. The Mayor’s Cup remains open: both professional golfers and amateurs are welcome to take part.
In addition to the main competition draw, the organizers have prepared a program for spectators and beginner players: workshops on golf basics, course tours, and the chance to watch the final game from the grandstand by the 18th green.
The tournament’s general partner is A7, the Russian international settlement system. Media support is provided by the Russian sports website Championat and the newspaper Vechernyaya Moskva.
The Moscow Mayor’s Golf Cup is one of the capital’s important sporting events, helping to promote golf and reinforce Moscow’s image as a leading Russian hub for world sport.
The Cup’s history began in 2005, when the first tournament was held at the Moscow City Golf Club on Dovzhenko Street and timed to coincide with City Day. The tournament quickly gained popularity and from its earliest years became a major fixture in the capital’s sporting life. In 2015, the event came under the umbrella of the city’s Golf Federation, which gave its development fresh momentum: participants came from more regions, the standard of organization rose, and the professional community paid greater attention to it. In 2023, the Mayor’s Cup was held for the first time at the Moscow Country Club course in Nakhabino, and the venue has remained its home ever since—its infrastructure can host competitions of any level and offers comfortable conditions for both athletes and spectators. Another important milestone was the launch in 2025 of the Children’s Mayor’s Cup, a separate tournament for Moscow’s strongest juniors, held on the eve of the main tournament.
