Moscow Showcases AI, Medical and Digital Technology Developments at AIM Congress 2026
Moscow presented its investment and technological potential at the 15th Annual Investment Forum AIM Congress 2026, held September 7–9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
At the center of the exposition prepared by the capital were modern company developments in digital technology, artificial intelligence, industry, education, and medicine. Moscow’s participation in AIM Congress 2026 was organized by the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.
The stand introduced congress guests to high-tech solutions being created in the Russian capital. The Digital Twin of Moscow project drew considerable interest from visitors. It is a digital environment that allows users to work with spatial data and gain a comprehensive view of the metropolis. The system brings together information about buildings, infrastructure, transport facilities, and utility networks. This approach enables better-informed urban planning decisions and helps account for their impact on various urban processes. The project attracted broad interest from foreign partners, including UAE leadership: the Moscow Government delegation presented it to Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Emir of Ras Al Khaimah and member of the UAE Supreme Council.
Another focus of the exposition was artificial intelligence and robotics. Aidol demonstrated a humanoid robot with artificial intelligence. Several Moscow developers presented solutions for professional training. For example, company 42 develops interactive online simulators and virtual laboratories for educational purposes.
Motorica presented developments in modern medicine. The company specializes in bionic and mechanical upper-limb prostheses. Visitors to the Moscow stand saw elbow modules, a bionic hand, and a line of body-powered prostheses. Thus, one venue brought together developments for different sectors: from city administration and vocational education to robotics and medical technology.
The Moscow stand also became a meeting point for representatives of foreign business and the investment community. Guests could learn about promising areas of economic development and opportunities to implement investment initiatives in the Russian capital. The city is carrying out more than 700 initiatives using various mechanisms of cooperation between government and business. These include offset contracts, large-scale investment projects, programs to incentivize job creation, and the expansion of the Moscow Technopolis special economic zone. The capital also uses concession mechanisms to deliver major infrastructure projects and engages foreign companies in this work. Green bonds have become another tool for financing urban development. The funds raised are used, among other things, to address tasks related to reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.
AIM Congress also hosted a presentation of Moscow’s investment potential. Representatives of the Moscow Government delegation spoke about the capital’s economic dynamics, international ties, tourism industry, and cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.
One notable indicator was the growth in tourist numbers. Despite external restrictions, Moscow shows annual tourist growth of 15–20%. According to data presented during the presentation, more than 26 million people visited the capital last year. Interaction with the UAE is also developing actively. Moscow’s trade turnover with the United Arab Emirates reached about $4 billion last year, up by roughly 30%.
Special attention was given to tourism and business ties between Russia and the UAE. Last year, about 2.3 million Russian tourists visited the United Arab Emirates. Russian business also continues to invest in the country’s economy. Real estate, development, and the hotel industry were named among the most notable areas. Moscow companies continue to implement projects in the UAE despite the challenging international environment.
At the AIM Awards 2026 ceremony, Moscow was announced as the winner in two categories: for significant achievements in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI Award) for the Neva Towers project, a multifunctional complex in the Moscow City business district with total investment of more than $1 billion; and for best urban solutions (Best Municipality Award) for the Moscow Longevity project. In addition, the Moscow Government delegation received a special AIM Congress Partner award, confirming the capital’s active role in developing international investment dialogue.
AIM Congress was held with the support of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, business, the investment sector, and industry experts from various countries. The central theme of the 2026 forum was transforming global prosperity and finding new investment opportunities for a sustainable and inclusive future.
