Days of Moscow in Baku
The Moscow Center for International Cooperation organized an extensive cultural program during the Days of Moscow in Baku on May 3-5, 2023. It came as part of the business program of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of the Moscow Government.
Thus, Heydar Aliyev Center hosted the opening of the exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society “Old Baku in RGO lens: first photos of the city” with rare photographs of the capital of Azerbaijan taken in the XIX century. An exhibition of archival materials of the Cinema Museum illustrating the bright pages of the history of cinema of Azerbaijan was opened in the Russian House.
The cultural program was continued by the concert of art groups “Turetsky Choir” and “SOPRANO”, as well as the Russian singer, the winner of the show “The Voice” Daria Antonyuk.
Russian theater «School of Modern Play» presented the play «In the Moonlight» in the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theatre named after Samed Vurgun. Later the director of “School of Modern Play” Dmitry Astrakhan and the leading actress Elena Sanaeva also performed an artistic master class.
For lovers of Russian literature and compatriots a meeting with the Russian writer, playwright and screenwriter Yuri M. Polyakov and his Azerbaijani colleague Chingiz Abdullayev was held. The writers discussed with the guests the development of modern works by Russian writers.
The cultural program of the Days of Moscow in Baku also included a friendly golf tournament between the youth teams of Moscow and Baku and a parliamentary chess tournament held at the International Mugham Center.
