International Forum on Sustainable Development in Bangkok

From February 25 to 28, 2025, the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) was held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand, under the theme “Advancing Sustainable, Inclusive, and Evidence-Based Solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to Leave No One Behind.”

The forum brought together representatives from governments, international organizations, academia, civil society, and business sectors across the region to discuss pressing challenges and foster partnerships for sustainable development.

In 2025, the forum’s primary focus was on monitoring and assessing progress toward the following Sustainable Development Goals:

  • SDG 3 — Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages;
  • SDG 5 — Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls;
  • SDG 8 — Promoting sustained, inclusive economic growth, full employment, and decent work for all;
  • SDG 14 — Conserving and sustainably using oceans, seas, and marine resources;
  • SDG 17 — Strengthening implementation mechanisms and revitalizing global partnerships for sustainable development.

A key component of the program was the voluntary national reviews, where participating countries presented their national progress on SDG implementation, sharing best practices and challenges encountered.

The Moscow Center for International Cooperation played an active role in organizing and coordinating several events aimed at promoting cross-sectoral collaboration and strengthening partnerships among government bodies, civil society, and academic institutions within the framework of the 2030 Agenda.

The forum served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and developing joint approaches to addressing critical sustainable development challenges, including environmental protection, public health, social inclusion, economic resilience, and women’s empowerment.
