International Transport Summit 2023

The International Transport Summit held in Moscow on August 24 – 27, 2023 was dedicated to the development of digital technologies and transport in the world’s largest megacities.

More than 60 foreign guests from 18 countries of the world took part in the event among whom were the representatives of transport and technology companies from cities across Europe, Southeast Asia, South and Central America, the Middle East and Africa.

The event was organized by the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow and the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.

On the first day of the forum Russian and foreign colleagues exchanged experience in introducing innovations into urban infrastructure. On the second day, August 25, a number of round tables were held on narrower issues: water transport, parking space equipment, rail frame of megacities, etc.

Within the framework of the International Transport Summit, a joint statement on cooperation in the field of transport was signed between Moscow and the capitals of China and the Philippines.

The statement launched the joint work of the parties on the UrbanTransportData project. It is an international analytical platform designed to collect, analyze, visualize and publish transport indicators of cities around the world and will include a news website, a professional forum for experts in the field of urban public transport development, as well as urban transport database.

On behalf of Moscow, the statement was signed by the Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow S.E. Cheremin. Beijing (China) was represented by Ms. Feng Tao, Director of the Political Research Department of the city’s Municipal Transport Commission. From the capital of the Philippines, Manila, the statement was signed by the head of the International Relations Department of Manila, Mr. Numero Lim.

Bilateral talks were also held with the Mayor of Antalya to discuss the possibility of establishing partnerships between the Prefecture of the Southern Administrative District and the Municipality of Antalya. Following the meeting, the signing ceremony of the Protocol on Cooperation between the Southern Administrative District and the municipality of Antalya took place.

In addition to the business program, foreign guests were also given the opportunity to use Moscow transport infrastructure, namely: historical metro stations, BCL, MCD, MCC, Mitino Electric Bus Park, SVARZ, the Situation Center of the Government of Moscow (“Usadba-Center”), EDC, data center.

The guests also went on river trip by the electric vessel “Yauza” and a night excursion to the metro.
