Astana Culture Days are being held in Moscow from July 31 to August 2. This event marks an important milestone in strengthening cultural ties between the capitals of Russia and Kazakhstan, while also continuing the tradition of Moscow Culture Days, which took place in Astana in December 2023.

On the first day of the festival, July 31, the Astana Musical Theater for Young Audiences presented the ethno-folkloric musical Kyz Zhibek. The performance took place at the School of Dramatic Art Theater. On August 1, the theater troupe will stage a musical drama titled Gaukhar Tas.

On August 2, the photo exhibition Astana – My Love will open in Lyublino Park, featuring works by Kazakh masters. The festival will culminate with the Gala Concert of Astana’s Master Artists at the Moscow International House of Music.

The festival program also includes official meetings and roundtable discussions with experts and business representatives. The event is organized by the Astana Akimat and the Government of Moscow, with support from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia.

A roundtable discussion of the working group on creative industries and cultural cooperation has already taken place. The event aimed to facilitate the exchange of best practices from successful projects implemented in both capitals, which could further support creative initiatives. Among the participants was Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.

Roundtable participants presented their projects and discussed best practices in art, design, music, and film. A key focus was identifying opportunities for joint projects to strengthen cultural ties and engage youth in creative industries. The roundtable resulted in a set of recommendations for future cooperation, emphasizing the integration of the creative sector into the economies of Astana and Moscow. Participants expressed hope for sustained collaboration and the active development of cultural exchange in the years ahead.
