BRICS Nations: Development Strategy and Cooperation Mechanisms in a Changing World

The Moscow Center for International Cooperation showcased the capital’s achievements at the Second International Scientific-Practical Conference “BRICS Nations: Development Strategy and Cooperation Mechanisms in a Changing World.”

The conference aimed to facilitate constructive discussions on development strategies and collaborative mechanisms among BRICS countries, formulate actionable recommendations to address key challenges in this field, and present outcomes and prospects of BRICS cooperation in economic, technological, scientific, and cultural spheres.

Sofia Ilyina, Head of Legal Affairs at the Moscow Center for International Cooperation and member of the Legal Regulation Commission for the Non-Profit Sector at the Moscow branch of the “Association of Lawyers of Russia,” delivered a report titled “Moscow – The World’s Leading City in Harnessing International Cooperation to Advance BRICS National Interests.”

In her address, Ilyina emphasized Moscow’s important role as a key player in fostering BRICS collaboration, presenting concrete examples of successful projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening economic and cultural ties among member states.

“Moscow possesses significant potential to advance international cooperation in alignment with BRICS national interests, demonstrating readiness to share knowledge and expertise for safer and more prosperous communities. For instance, this August, the capital will host the BRICS International Municipal Forum—a platform for regional and municipal authorities of partner nations to engage and a crucial venue for building effective business networks between Russian entrepreneurs and their international counterparts,” highlighted Ilyina.
