India Day in Moscow

From August 15 to 18, Moscow will host the ninth annual India Day festival. Held at Dream Island Landscape Park, the event will offer residents and guests of the capital a unique opportunity to explore the rich culture, traditions, customs, and renowned cuisine of India. The festival is timed to coincide with India’s Independence Day and the 78th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Russia. This year’s central theme is Family.

Visitors will be welcomed by over 20 themed zones, including “Holi”, “Dance”, “Yoga and Meditation”, “Bollywood”, “Mehndi and Astrology”, “Live Indian Wedding”, and many others. An extensive educational program will feature lectures, workshops, and an Indian marketplace. Festival highlights include a vibrant parade, screenings of Indian films, a family fashion show, and a chess tournament.

A choreographic performance will be presented by 200 professional dancers from India and Russia. More than 120 shops and restaurants will invite guests to taste authentic Indian dishes. Yoga sessions will be led by instructors from over 70 schools across the country, and international trainers will conduct sports masterclasses.

All events are free of charge and open to visitors of all ages. Guests who complete advance registration will receive a complimentary gift from the organizers.

The event is supported by the Department of Culture and the Department for External Economic and International Relations. Last year, the festival attracted more than two million attendees.
