Media Forum of Russian Compatriots Held in Armenia
Delegation from the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow took part in the Media Forum of Russian Compatriots from the Near Abroad and Europe, which was held from November 10 to 14 in Yerevan, Armenia. The Department was represented by Vladimir Grinko, Head of the Department for Work with Compatriots and Information Policy.
The event was organized by Department for External Economic and International Relation in collaboration with the Moscow House of Compatriots. During the opening ceremony, held at the Moscow House in Yerevan, the head of the delegation delivered a welcome address on behalf of Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of DEEIR.
In his message, Minister Cheremin thanked journalists for their commitment to preserving the Russian language, for accurately representing Russia’s position, and for their dedication to professional growth. He emphasized that the support of Russian-language media remains a priority for the Government of Moscow. Every effort will be made to establish a permanent platform for discussing professional challenges and initiatives within the Russian-speaking media community.
“The Moscow House in Yerevan is a prime example of the dynamic cooperation between the capitals of Moscow and Yerevan. This partnership is grounded in a solid legal framework and supported by practical initiatives, such as the Days of Moscow in Yerevan and the reciprocal Days of Yerevan in Moscow, as well as this Media Forum,” noted Vladimir Grinko.
The event brought together more than 40 representatives of Russian-language media outlets from abroad and Russia, as well as members of compatriot organizations from 14 countries across the Near Abroad and Europe, and Russian media experts. Participants unanimously agreed that such forums are a valuable platform for sharing perspectives and experiences among colleagues from different countries.
As part of the Media Forum, participants attended thematic lectures on media operations. Representatives from Moskva 24 and Vechernyaya Moskva shared insights into the workings of Moscow’s leading editorial offices.
The program also featured discussions and master classes focused on current professional topics. Participants exchanged experiences and addressed key issues, including the use of artificial intelligence in journalism, information UX architecture, newsroom operations, and the social responsibility of the media.
