Moscow at KazanForum 2025

From May 13 to 18, 2025, Kazan will host the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum.” This key platform aims to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural ties between the Russian Federation and the countries of the Islamic world. The forum will bring together representatives of business, government agencies, and international organizations to discuss cooperation in areas such as Islamic finance, the halal industry, digital technologies, logistics, and tourism.

The Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow will take an active part in the Forum. The delegation will be led by Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.

During the forum, the Minister will speak at several key sessions. On May 15, he is scheduled to speak at the session “Russia–MENA: From Trade to Cooperation Projects,” dedicated to the development of trade, economic, and industrial relations with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. In his address, Sergey Cheremin will highlight investment cooperation, including attracting foreign direct investment and launching joint ventures.

On May 16, Cheremin will take part in the roundtable “Russia–Malaysia,” where participants will discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation. Special attention will be given to projects in cybersecurity, smart cities, and renewable energy.

Also on May 16, during the session “Exporting Digital Products for Smart Cities: From Concept to Global Market,”Sergey Cheremin will present Moscow’s experience. Participants will explore advanced practices in urban digitalization, the implementation of intelligent transport systems, and opportunities for cooperation with Russian regions and Islamic countries in the field of sustainable development.

The Russia Halal Expo will be one of the forum’s central exhibition platforms, showcasing investment and infrastructure projects, international stands, and initiatives in Islamic finance and mechanical engineering. Moscow’s exhibition stand will present the capital’s economic potential using multimedia technologies. Visitors will be able to explore innovative Moscow projects aimed at improving the urban environment and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

KazanForum 2025 will reaffirm its status as an important venue for dialogue and cooperation. Moscow’s participation highlights the capital’s role as a hub of innovation and sustainable development, open to international partnerships. The event will mark another step toward strengthening economic and cultural ties between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world.

Last year’s Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum 2024 confirmed its status as one of the largest international events in the Eurasian region, bringing together more than 20,000 participants, including 885 speakers from 87 countries and 87 regions of Russia.
