Moscow Participates in Smart Cities India Expo 2024 in New Delhi

From January 17 to 19, 2024, a delegation from the Government of Moscow took part for the first time in the international Smart Cities India Expo in New Delhi.

Moscow was honored as a Guest City at the exhibition. The opening ceremony of Moscow’s stand featured speeches by Sergei Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, and Chairman of the Business Council for Cooperation with India, as well as Gurmit Singh, Governor of Uttarakhand.

“India and Russia share 75 years of trade, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation, marked by a privileged strategic partnership. Both nations possess unique expertise in aerospace, nuclear energy, engineering, consumer electronics, microelectronics, IT development, cybersecurity, and advanced software solutions—making them ideal partners for initiatives like Smart India Cities. We are united by a common goal: building cutting-edge infrastructure and creating safe, comfortable urban environments,” emphasized Sergei Cheremin in his welcoming address.

At the exhibition, Moscow showcased its latest achievements, presenting smart city solutions such as its intelligent transport systemdigital government services, the Moscow Electronic School platform, and the use of artificial intelligence in urban governance. Visitors explored how Moscow is transforming into a modern, culturally vibrant, and secure metropolis for its residents.

Thirteen Russian companies participated in the exhibition, demonstrating their innovations. Of particular interest to Indian experts was Moscow’s Regional Environmental Monitoring System, which tracks air quality, surface water conditions, soil quality, green spaces, noise levels, hazardous geo-ecological processes.
