The festival of Latin American and Caribbean countries culture will be held in Moscow
From July 21st to 30th, the annual festival of Latin American and Caribbean countries will take place in Moscow. This vibrant event will become a true cultural celebration, attracting the attention of Muscovites and guests of the capital. The opening of the festival will be held on July 21st at the “Khudozhestvenny” cinema.
The event is organized with the support and assistance of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, the Department of Culture of Moscow, ANO “House of Latin America,” ANO “Moscow Center for International Cooperation ,” Moskino, the Moscow Government University, the M.I. Rudomino Foreign Literature Library, School No. 1252 named after Cervantes, and Embassies of Latin American and Caribbean countries.
On July 22nd and 23rd, the central venue for the festival events will be the Hermitage Garden. The festival of Latin American and Caribbean countries is a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the captivating world of traditions, cuisine, music, and dances of this diverse region. Visitors will be able to enjoy authentic street food restaurants offering dishes prepared according to famous Latin American recipes.
Music lovers will be enveloped in the unique atmosphere of live performances. The festival will present a wide range of musical genres, including performances by virtuoso Mariachi guitarists from Mexico, the “Samba Real” drum carnival show, the “La Fiesta” group carnival show (samba, capoeira), the Moscow tango theater together with the solo tango duo orchestra and Jesus Gorgon from Argentina, and Sethontle Guerrilleo with dance numbers from Nicaragua. The program of the festival’s all days is very rich. Renowned musicians and dancers will showcase their skills on stage, and visitors will be able to immerse themselves in energetic rhythms.
The festival organizers have also planned various activities for families with children. Children will be delighted to see bright artists and participate in creative workshops and games. Visitors will be able to enjoy the interactive show of Colombian artist Oscar Gonzalez.
As part of the festival of Latin American and Caribbean countries’ culture, the festival of films from the countries of this region will take place in Moscow on July 21st. The film screenings will be held from July 22nd to 30th at the Moskino Cosmos, Moskino Fakel, and Moskino Museum cinemas.
The festival program includes 15 films from 11 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru.
Audiences will have the opportunity to get acquainted with contemporary fiction and documentary Latin American cinema in all its wonderful diversity.
