VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Greater Eurasia: National and Civilizational Aspects of Development and Cooperation”
From November 27 to 29, 2024, the University of World Civilizations hosted the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Greater Eurasia: National and Civilizational Aspects of Development and Cooperation.”
The conference aimed to address key issues of socio-economic, innovative-technological, and spiritual-humanitarian development across Greater Eurasia, as well as strategies and mechanisms for international cooperation. Discussions also focused on integration and disintegration processes in the modern world, alongside the presentation of outcomes and prospects in international economic, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation among the countries of Greater Eurasia.
Sofia Ilyina, Head of the Legal Affairs Department of the Moscow Center for International Cooperation, and member of the Commission on Legal Regulation of the Non-Profit Sector of the Moscow Regional Branch of the Russian Lawyers Association, delivered a report titled “Key Global and Regional Aspects of BRICS Cooperation (Prospects Following the 2024 BRICS International Municipal Forum Based on the Example of Moscow).”
The report highlighted significant events held under Russia’s BRICS chairmanship in 2024, including the VI BRICS International Municipal Forum.
Sofia Ilyina emphasized that BRICS IMF 2024 served as a vital platform for discussing essential topics such as sustainable development, innovative technologies, and improving quality of life in urban environments. The Forum placed special emphasis on fostering effective cooperation between the municipalities of BRICS nations and countries seeking to join the alliance.
Her report provided a detailed overview of the Forum’s key outcomes, including the signing of agreements on municipal collaboration and economic partnership, as well as discussions on strategic planning and the integration of new technologies in urban governance. Ilyina underlined the growing interest in sharing successful initiatives, building resilient economic ties at the metropolitan level, advancing innovative technologies, and enhancing urban living standards.
