Forum “Spitak Earthquake: A Tragedy That United Nations” Held in Yerevan

Igor Tkach, Deputy Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, spoke at a conference of emergency response services from Russia and Armenia. In his address, he emphasized the importance of such forums in strengthening business and humanitarian contacts, as well as in fostering a sustainable dialogue between the relevant agencies of the two countries.

The conference, titled “Spitak Earthquake: A Tragedy That United Nations,” is taking place at the Moscow House in Yerevan. Participants include representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, relevant government agencies, and military personnel. Forum attendees had the opportunity to exchange professional experience and discuss prospects for further cooperation.

The forum, organized by the Government of Moscow, the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation, the Moscow House of Compatriots, and the Moscow House in Yerevan, also includes visits to the cities of Gyumri and Spitak, where wreath‑laying ceremonies will be held at the Memorial to the Victims of the Spitak Earthquake.
