Moscow Companies Showcase Their Developments at Gitex Global 2025
A Moscow delegation took part in Gitex Global 2025, the international exhibition for technology, artificial intelligence, and startups, held from October 13 to 17 in Dubai, UAE. The Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow served as the lead organizer for Moscow’s participation. The delegation was headed by Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations.
The Moscow stand attracted considerable attention from exhibition visitors. The interactive multimedia exposition highlighted the city’s key achievements. Visitors were shown several cutting‑edge digital projects being implemented by the Government of Moscow (the Department of Information Technologies of Moscow and the Department of Urban Planning Policy of Moscow). One of them was Moscow’s digital twin – a virtual replica of the capital overlaid with analytical layers: street panoramas, building and utility characteristics, real‑time spatial data, and more. These enable informed management decisions in construction and urban improvement. For instance, artificial intelligence can generate optimal territorial development scenarios based on specified parameters. The Moscow exposition also showcased other innovative digital solutions in urban planning and the city’s Artificial Intelligence Centre.
The stand also featured the Mos.Tech technology platform, used for software development, information system maintenance, and cybersecurity. Visitors could test laptops running the MosTech.OS operating system and a suite of Moscow services including a text editor, video conferencing software, a messenger, and email. These digital products are tailored to residents’ needs. The product line also includes interactive panels and all‑in‑one computers, with over 120,000 devices already in use across various Moscow organizations and government agencies.
Another significant project is the Mos.Hub platform, which enables specialists to develop software. The platform covers the entire development lifecycle – from planning and documentation to coding and product launch. Over 26,000 people currently use the service.
Virtual tours helped visitors transport themselves to the Russian capital and experience its warm atmosphere. For example, a 3D version of VDNKh recreated its scenic locations and iconic pavilions. The “Flight Over Moscow” project offered breathtaking aerial views of the city’s main landmarks – Red Square, Luzhniki Stadium, Vorontsovsky Park, and Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Co‑exhibitors at the stand of the Government of Moscow included VisionLabs LLC and Rublyovo‑Arkhangelskoye JSC. VisionLabs develops facial and object recognition solutions. At the exhibition, the company demonstrated a facial recognition system capable of determining gender and age from an image and accurately verifying age of consent. The facial recognition algorithms are used for access control in public spaces, fare payment on public transport, searching for wanted individuals, and other applications. The company also presented Liveness technology, which protects biometric systems by distinguishing live individuals from spoofs – photographs, videos, or realistic 3D masks. This technology helps protect users from fraudsters attempting to impersonate someone else to gain access to personal data or conduct payment transactions.
Rublyovo‑Arkhangelskoye JSC presented its SberCity project – a multifunctional residential and business district being built in one of the most ecologically clean areas in western Moscow. The planned area of the district is 461 hectares. SberCity will house over 65,000 residents and provide jobs for more than 70,000 people. The entire complex is scheduled for completion by 2032. The district’s concept is built around proximity of workplaces to homes, comfortable recreational areas, a pedestrian‑ and cyclist‑friendly environment, transport accessibility, and mindful energy consumption.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, talks were held with international partners. The Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow held meetings with Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality; Wesam Lootah, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Department of Information Technology; and Francisco Forbes, President of the São Paulo Technology Development Agency (Brazil).
Participation in one of the largest industry’s exhibitions allowed Moscow to showcase its high‑tech achievements and the cutting‑edge developments of its entrepreneurs. The event helped strengthen the Russian capital’s image as a high‑technology hub and opened new opportunities for expanding international partnerships.
