Moscow Days Successfully Conclude in the United Arab Emirates
From December 11 to 12, the Moscow Days program took place in the United Arab Emirates, aimed at strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the Russian capital and the Emirates. The events, organized with the support of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow and the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation, covered key areas of business and humanitarian dialogue.
The central event of the business program was the plenary session of the forum “Moscow – Dubai: Cities of a Sustainable Future,” held on December 11. The session was moderated by Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow. Government officials and representatives of high‑tech businesses from both countries discussed promising areas of partnership, focusing on increasing trade turnover, technological cooperation in artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital platforms, as well as the development of financial infrastructure. Sergey Cheremin noted the steady growth of bilateral economic ties, reporting that trade turnover between Moscow and the UAE reached nearly $3 billion in 2024, and highlighted the capital’s active participation in exhibitions in the Emirates.
On the same day, the Moscow delegation led by Sergey Cheremin held working meetings in Sharjah with the leadership of the University City of Sharjah and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, exploring opportunities for cooperation in research, technology, and innovation.
On December 12, a conference titled “Compatriots Today: Work, Tasks, Prospects,” organized by the Department and the Moscow House of Compatriots, opened in Dubai. Sergey Cheremin took part in the plenary session. The forum, which runs until December 13, focuses on Moscow’s role as a systemic hub for supporting compatriots abroad. Six thematic sessions cover issues of diaspora consolidation, intergenerational communication, media skills development, and the practical application of artificial intelligence in professional activities. The event aims to develop concrete initiatives for joint projects in the region.
The cultural finale of the Moscow Days program was a gala concert on behalf of the Moscow Government, featuring the Moscow Youth Chamber Orchestra under the direction of V.I. Vorona and the renowned Russian folk song ensemble “Lyubo‑Milo.” The artists presented both classical and folk music traditions of Russia, creating a vivid symbol of deepening humanitarian ties and mutual respect between the two countries.
The events demonstrated the mutual interest of Moscow and the United Arab Emirates in developing a sustainable partnership encompassing the economy, technology, support for compatriots, and culture, and laid a solid foundation for future joint projects.
