Moscow Economic, Scientific and Cultural Days in Barcelona

The Moscow Center for International Cooperation presented achievements of Russian capital in the field of the Economics, Science and Culture during the Days of Moscow. The event was held at Barcelona on December 17-22, 2021 and was a part of the visit of the delegation of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow Government.

One of the key events of the business program was a plenary session on the development of foreign economic, scientific and humanitarian cooperation between Moscow and Barcelona and a round table “Smart City”, where the parties exchanged best practices in the field of sustainable urban development in new realities, discussed implemented bilateral cooperation projects and non-standard solutions in the field of post-crisis urban management.

During the visit, the Moscow delegation also met with the Commissioner of the Barcelona City Council for the Development of the image of the city, Pau Sollanio, who noted the interest in developing cooperation with the Russian capital in the field of digitalization and the use of “smart solutions” in the urban economy, as well as in tourism, culture and cultural heritage, the development of technoparks. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to draft a document on cooperation between Moscow and Barcelona for the coming years.

In addition, a diverse cultural program was organized which included the performance of Moscow Cossack Choir and DJ Sergey Krapiva, an exhibition of paintings by Sergei and Maxim Sidorenko “Catalonia through the eyes of Muscovites” with open lessons in fine art by the artists. Competitions between the Moscow and Spanish Royal Golf Clubs also were held.
