Russian-Indian Business Dialogue in New Delhi

On the eve of the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Russia and India, a “Russian-Indian Business Dialogue” was held in New Delhi on April 17-18, 2023. On the Russian side, the organizer was the Business Council for Cooperation with India and the Department for External Economic and International Relations of the Government of Moscow, so as on the Indian side – Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, FICCI. The operator of the event from the Russian side was the Moscow Center for International Cooperation.

 

The delegation of the Moscow Government was headed by the Minister, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, Chairman of the Board of the Business Council for Cooperation with India Sergey Cheremin. More than two hundred B2B meetings were held as part of the Business Dialogue. In particular, Russia was represented by 35 companies, including Transmashholding JSC, Gazprombank JSC, Impulse Group LLC, UAC PJSC, Sinara – Transport Machines JSC, Pharmasynthesis Group of Companies, ALROSA JSC (PJSC), NOVATEK PJSC, Internet LLC Solutions” (OZON), etc. On the Indian side, more than 80 large enterprises from four cities participated – Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Bathinda (Punjab), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Calcutta (West Bengal).

 

During the business event, the parties discussed the opportunities for cooperation between companies in the field of transport and mechanical engineering, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, digital technologies, energy, finance and trade.

 

Sergey Cheremin noted that logistics is one of the key tasks facing Russia and India now. The problem of disruption of logistics chains affected both interstate and large, medium-sized businesses and small companies. Therefore, it is advisable to use mutual insurance guarantees when moving goods and provide preferences to national traders.

 

Indian partners have shown considerable interest in deepening regional cooperation and especially in the developments and solutions of Russian companies in the field of high technologies and infrastructure modernization.
