Thai Festival in the Hermitage Garden

In early August 2022, in the Hermitage Garden, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Russia, with the support of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow Government and the Moscow Center for International Cooperation, organized regular and beloved by Muscovites festival of Thai culture. It was timed to coincide with the 125th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Thailand and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of partnership between Moscow and Bangkok.

Sasivat Vongsinsavat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Russia, at the opening ceremony noted that Bangkok and Moscow can still offer each other a lot to expand their socio-economic and cultural cooperation. Before the outbreak of the pandemic, the Thai culture festival was held in Moscow annually for six years and was one of the most popular summer events in the capital.

This year guests of the festival were offered numerous exhibitions of traditional jewelry, master classes on fruit carving and handicrafts, Thai massage and demonstrations of Muay Thai boxers. Fans of exotic cuisine had the opportunity to taste the national dishes of Thailand and watch the process of cooking. Thai and Russian designers with fashion shows as well as famous Thai jazz performers, artists of the Moscow Cossack Choir and participants of the Voice project also performed on the stage.
