13th Asia‑Pacific Forum

From February 24 to 27, the 13th Asia‑Pacific Forum will take place at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. During the discussions, experts will address the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the regional level.

The theme of the 2026 Forum is: “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions to implement the 2030 Agenda and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for a sustainable future for all.” Special focus will be on SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the Goals).

Representatives of the Russian Association for the UN and the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow will take part in the Forum.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, an exposition of the Government of Moscow will be on display, prepared jointly by the Russian Association for the UN, the Department for External Economic and International Relations, and the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation. The booth focuses on key areas of sustainable urban development in the metropolis, including eco‑friendly transport, the renovation program, digital transformation, and modern infrastructure solutions.

On February 26, a discussion is scheduled as part of the Forum on “The private sector’s contribution to transformative and coordinated actions to implement the 2030 Agenda and the UN SDGs in the Asia‑Pacific region.” Moscow’s experience in implementing sustainable development principles and supporting the capital’s companies and entrepreneurs will be presented at the UN Conference Centre. The session participants will also explore the potential of business as a driver of systemic change, investment attraction issues, and public‑private partnership mechanisms needed to achieve the 2030 Agenda.

The delegation will continue its work in thematic sessions of the Forum, as well as through bilateral and multilateral consultations with delegations from regional states, ESCAP experts, and academic partners. Moscow’s and Russian experts’ participation in the Forum will underline their commitment to the principles of sustainable development and readiness to share successful experiences with countries across the Asia‑Pacific region.
