Moscow Hosts Delegation from Shanghai Municipal Government

On May 22, a meeting between representatives of the Government of Moscow and a delegation from Shanghai took place at the Moscow City Situational Center. The focus was on exchanging experience in urban planning, environmental programs, and the sustainable development of large cities.

The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Gao Shiyun, Deputy Director General of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing, Urban‑Rural Development and Management.

Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, presented the capital’s key projects and highlighted the dynamic interaction between Moscow and China’s largest cities and provinces.

Representatives of relevant government departments showcased specific achievements: economic indicators, the implementation of green standards, and advanced urban planning solutions.

During the visit, the Shanghai delegation toured infrastructure and construction technologies under the renovation program, as well as the innovative pavilions at VDNKh. The Chinese colleagues highly praised the quality of the urban environment and the technological sophistication of the facilities.

Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation. The Shanghai partners particularly supported Moscow’s participation in the Shanghai Award for Sustainable Urban Development, noting that the Russian capital’s experience deserves international recognition.
