Moscow Hosts Discussion on Support for Compatriots at 56th Session of the World Coordination Council

Moscow hosted the 56th session of the World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federation Council, the State Duma, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Legal Foundation, and other government agencies and organizations.

Participants discussed human rights activities in the current environment, as well as the role of compatriot associations in the information support of elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation abroad.

Heads of regional Councils presented reports on the development of cultural and humanitarian projects and the promotion of the Russian language in their respective countries.

Igor Tkach, Deputy Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, spoke about Moscow’s work with compatriots, detailing joint projects with Russian regions aimed at supporting compatriots abroad.
