Moscow Shares Digital Transformation Experience at GITEX Asia 2026
On April 9, Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, spoke at the expert session “Chips, Clouds, and Connectivity: Building Asia’s AI Backbone.”
The discussion focused on the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure, including data centers, cloud platforms, telecommunications, and semiconductor technologies. In his remarks, Cheremin presented Moscow’s achievements in digital transformation and smart city technologies, with particular emphasis on the role of AI in managing a megacity.
“It is impossible to effectively manage a city as large as Moscow without a sophisticated digital system and the use of artificial intelligence across various areas of urban governance,” Sergey Cheremin noted.
Today, the Russian capital is implementing more than 130 AI‑driven projects in healthcare, education, transport, and urban planning. In addition, Moscow is actively developing its own technology base, deploying and scaling homegrown digital solutions to ensure the resilience and independence of the city’s IT infrastructure.
Moscow’s participation in GITEX Asia 2026 provides an opportunity to exchange best practices with international partners, discuss current challenges of digital transformation, and identify new avenues for cooperation.
