Moscow to Take Part in Smart Nation Expo 2025
A Moscow delegation led by Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, will take part in Smart Nation Expo 2025, one of Southeast Asia’s largest technology exhibitions. The event will be held from November 18 to 20 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It aims to foster cooperation between governments and businesses to increase digital integration and create a progressive urban environment. Moscow is participating in the exhibition for the third time.
Smart Nation Expo 2025 will showcase innovations in smart city solutions, 5G technologies, artificial intelligence, data center management, and electric transport. These cutting‑edge developments are aimed at transforming the urban environment and improving the quality of life. The event will attract government representatives, high‑tech industry leaders, urban planners, smart technology providers, and business experts.
The Moscow stand will feature a large‑scale interactive exhibition. It will introduce visitors to Moscow’s current digitalization projects, which cover all aspects of life in the capital, such as transport, e‑government, housing and utilities, construction, education, healthcare, security, and environmental protection. Moscow companies are developing effective digital solutions in virtual reality, biometric systems, cybersecurity, business process optimization platforms, and much more.
During the Moscow delegation’s visit to Kuala Lumpur, meetings are planned with Nail Latypov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Malaysia; Andrey Kuznetsov, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Malaysia; Mr. Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital of Malaysia; and Ismadi bin Sakirin, Deputy Mayor of Kuala Lumpur and Executive Director of Socio‑Economic Development of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall. The parties will discuss promising areas for cooperation and the implementation of joint projects. Moscow holds a leading position globally in digitalization — in 2024 alone, the capital’s government bodies and IT projects won more than 60 industry awards. The Russian capital is particularly interested in exchanging experience with Kuala Lumpur in digital initiatives, sustainable development, and integrating information technology into public services.
On the sidelines of Smart Nation Expo 2025, the Asia Smart Cities Summit will take place. Participants will include Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Minister of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia; Sergey Cheremin, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow; Dmitry Ontoev, Advisor to the Head of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies; and other officials. Sergey Cheremin will present the fundamental principles of Moscow’s Smart City strategy to the Malaysian audience. The minister will highlight key trends in smart city development that have been successfully implemented in Moscow, including the deployment of AI technologies, autonomous transport, digital twins, as well as the development of e‑government services, the Internet of Things, and electric transport.
Participating in Smart Nation Expo 2025 will allow the Russian capital to strengthen its position as a leader in digital transformation. Moscow is open to sharing experience in high technology. At the exhibition, Moscow companies will present their innovative developments and have the opportunity to sign export contracts.
