The Delegation of the Government of Moscow to Present the Capital’s Innovative Solutions at Smart Cities India Expo 2026

From March 23 to 25, 2026, a delegation of the Government of Moscow will visit New Delhi to take part in the 11th international exhibition Smart Cities India Expo. This large‑scale forum, dedicated to digital technologies, sustainable development, and innovation, traditionally serves as a prestigious discussion platform, bringing together representatives of government, business, and expert communities.

Moscow’s participation is aimed at developing international cooperation, promoting the capital’s technological solutions, and strengthening foreign economic ties. The delegation will be headed by Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, and Chairman of the Business Council for Cooperation with India.

Moscow is taking part in Smart Cities India Expo for the third time, confirming its status as one of the world’s leading smart cities. The exhibition traditionally covers a wide range of areas, including robotics, automation, cybersecurity, smart mobility, digital technologies, as well as the ESG agenda and sustainable development.

On March 23, Sergey Cheremin will speak at the exhibition’s opening ceremony, “India’s Impact: Tech Today, Transformation Tomorrow,” where he will present Moscow’s key achievements in digital transformation, sustainable development, and improving the quality of the urban environment.

On the same day, the Moscow city booth will open, showcasing cutting‑edge developments from the capital’s companies. Leading organizations specializing in high technologies and urban innovation – including SberCity, VisionLabs, Logos, Element Group, Basalt SPO, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, and Oxygen Technologies Rus – will present their latest achievements. Visitors to the booth will be able to explore modern solutions in digitalization, transport, ecology, and security that are shaping a comfortable and sustainable urban environment.

The central event of the business program will be the 3rd Smart Cities Forum, to be held on March 24. The forum is organized by the Government of Moscow, the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, and the Business Council for Cooperation with India, with the support of the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation. The event will serve as a platform for discussing prospects for Russian‑Indian cooperation in technology and urban infrastructure, with participation from government and business representatives of both countries. The program also includes specialized discussions: sessions on “Smart City Financial Technologies” and “A Culture of Trust: An Economy Built on Values,” aimed at developing sectoral cooperation and launching new joint projects. As part of the forum, Sergey Cheremin will present the capital’s investment opportunities, discuss the city’s sustainable economic development, projects to create a comfortable environment, and prospects for international partnership.

On March 25, the delegation of the Government of Moscow will take part in the “World Public Summit: A New World – India in the Architecture of a Common Future.” The summit, organized by the World Assembly of Peoples in conjunction with the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will serve as an international platform for discussing key issues of global development, including partner economies, public diplomacy, innovation, and humanitarian cooperation. Sergey Cheremin will speak at the summit’s plenary session, where he will discuss key areas of Moscow’s international cooperation, the role of megacities in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and the potential of Russian‑Indian cooperation.

The participation of the Moscow Government delegation in the events in New Delhi is aimed at strengthening the Russian‑Indian strategic partnership, developing business and investment ties, and promoting the capital’s high‑tech solutions on international markets.

The anniversary 10th Smart Cities India Expo, held in 2025, attracted 54,589 visitors from 26 countries. The event featured 976 companies, 200 startups, and 220 speakers.
