The Moscow Days to Take Place in India

From December 4 to 6, Moscow Days will be held in Delhi (Republic of India) — a series of events aimed at expanding cooperation between the Russian capital and India in the economic, humanitarian, and cultural spheres. The organizers are the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow and the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation.

The central event of the program will be the Russian‑Indian Forum, which will bring together representatives of government authorities, business, and expert communities from both countries. The forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

On December 4, the official opening ceremony of the forum will take place, along with a strategic session dedicated to promoting Indian business in the Russian market. The main business program will take place on December 5 and will focus on discussing conditions for further strengthening economic ties between the two countries. Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, will take part in the forum’s key events. He will speak at the panel discussion “Russia – India: Building Sustainable Chains of Cooperation in Trade and Industry.” The discussion will concentrate on opportunities to diversify the trade structure, stimulate supplies of Indian industrial products, create conditions for the formation of production clusters, and facilitate the localization of Indian companies in Russia. Key topics include the impact of the free trade agreement between the EAEU and India, the development of new logistics routes, and examples of successful industrial cooperation. The forum will conclude with a plenary session “Russia – India: A Dialogue Changing the World,” which will summarize the discussions and identify directions for further work.

The cultural program in Delhi will complement the business events and promote humanitarian exchange. An exhibition and masterclasses by Russian artists Sergey and Maxim Sidorenko will take place. Their work represents a contemporary interpretation of the classical painting school, based on the continuity of the Russian realistic tradition and attention to landscape as a central genre.

As part of the Moscow Days program, a friendly golf tournament with Russian and Indian athletes is also planned, to be held at the Delhi Golf Club. The tournament aims to develop cross‑cultural interaction and strengthen informal ties between the countries.

Events marking the 60th anniversary of the Centre for Russian Studies will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru University. The program includes an intellectual game for students studying Russian and a ceremony for donating Russian‑language literature. The Russian language has traditionally been one of the most studied foreign languages at several Indian universities, and interest in it is growing amid expanding economic and cultural contacts between the countries. Supporting educational initiatives aimed at strengthening language training helps train professionals for Russian‑Indian projects and expands opportunities for academic and humanitarian exchange.

The Moscow Days in Delhi consolidate the capital’s efforts to strengthen economic, cultural, and educational ties with India, creating conditions for further development of bilateral cooperation and raising it to new strategic heights.
